We appreciate your comment StormyMonday and we respect your opinion. We do agree with you to a small extent, in that, this article could very well apply to many other races. However, the fact that this article was written about blacks (NOT any other race) is what should grab the reader's attention. We graciously disagree with you, or anyone, who feels that blacks are in many ways, not still enslaved. As hard as it may be to admit, we are often times "our own worst enemy." Yes, there are a large percentage of us who are doing what is necessary to better ourselves and we are teaching our children to do the same, BUT, a good many of us are not and those particular individuals are most certainly major contributors to their own problems (lack of education being one of them). In our opinion, this information should be taken at face value. RESEARCH will only give us some of the answers we look for ~ sometimes the answers are right in front of us or surrounding us, but we choose to ignore them. We're all about finding solutions, if you have something extra you'd like to share. . . AND, by all means, if you have additional information on who wrote or read this article, please let us know that as well.

The saddest part about this article is the fact that many of us tend to take things like this email at face value and don't RESEARCH before passing on emails. While it might be true that many black people can't budget or don't have their priorities straight or that some don't read, I think it's wrong to generalize and say that we, Blacks, are still slaves. This article could also apply to white folk, and many other races and creeds of people. I've gotten way off the point, excuse me, the reason why I'm leaving a reply is to point out the fact that a white woman didn't write nor read this article.

Thank you for reading this Tamiko! It is very much a sad truth for black people and we can only hope that the more we educate ourselves and the rest of us, we will see some significant improvements in our lives. Please pass this article on -- Many of us still need a reality check!
